I am largely a self taught artist. I left a career on Wall Street after I married to open a small antique business. I was an avid quilter and antique doll collector. With three small children I gave up my business and while at home began working in pastels doing commissioned portraits (mostly of children). After earning a Masters Degree in Education I taught elementary school for a few years, leaving teaching to devote my energy to raising my children full time. Always looking for a creative outlet I began (about four years ago) playing with sculpting techniques after seeing a doll by artist Annie Wahl. After many attempts I began to find a little success with my creations and devote more time to learning different techniques. I read every book and magazine I could find, watched video after video, and was lucky enough to find some local classes with visiting artists.

I became a patron of NIADA and attended a conference, taking more classes. Doll making brings together most of what I love to do, from design, to sewing, sculpting, and painting it has it all. A lover of dolls since childhood I cannot think of a more satisfying creative outlet. My creations are known under my blog name “My Witchy Women” since the majority of my work is Halloween related (although I do create non Halloween dolls). My work was recently featured in the Aug/Sept/Oct issue of Art Doll Quarterly. I showcase my creations every year at the Halloween & Vine, Hallowbaloo, and Spirits in Sanford Halloween Art Shows.
